Brennen Gibson voted Clarksville-area boys high school athlete of the week for April 22-28

Clarksville Academy baseball junior Brennen Gibson was voted the Clarksville-area boys high school athlete of the week for April 22-28.

Gibson received 44,068 votes, which was 60.10% of the total. In second place was West Creek soccer senior Emanuel Mendez.

Previous winners of the spring sports season are Montgomery Central's Gabe Eddington, Clarksville's Ben Moore, Clarksville Christian's Cade Cocke, Kirkwood's Jon Lucas Pardo, West Creek's Aiden Urdiales, Kirkwood's Matthew Dirks and Montgomery Central's Dylan Fulton.

This week's nominees are listed below.

Bo Atkins, baseball, Stewart County: Went 3-for-4 with a double in a 3-2 win at McKenzie on April 26.

Braylon Bender, track and field, Kirkwood: Won the 1,600 meters at the Montgomery County Championships by running a 4:44.40, a season-best. Placed second in the 3,200 with a season-best 10:30.40 and finished third in the 800 (2:07.27).

Talan Berthiaume, baseball, Clarksville Christian: Pitched six innings, giving up one earned run and five hits while striking out nine, in a 9-4 win over Zion Christian on April 26. On offense, had two RBIs, two runs and stole five bases. Went 2-for-4 with a stolen base in an 11-0 win at South Haven Christian on April 25.

Treyson Cosby, track and field, Northwest: Ran a season-best 40.53 seconds in the 300-meter hurdles to take first at the Montgomery County Championships. Also took second in the 110 hurdles (16.04 seconds) and the triple jump (42 feet, six inches.) Ran on the Vikings' second-place 4x400-meter relay, which finished in 3:31.30.

Brennen Gibson, baseball, Clarksville Academy: Batted .455 and slugged .818 in four games on the week, driving in six runs and crossing the plate four times. Went 3-for-3 with a home run, a double and three RBIs in a 13-6 win at Davidson Academy on April 27.

Adam Harrington, baseball, Fort Campbell: Went 4-for-5 with six RBIs, four runs, two doubles, a triple and two stolen bases in a 32-7 win at Kenwood on April 25. Pitched four innings, giving up two hits and striking out three.

Micah Harrison, soccer, Montgomery Central: Made 15 saves in a 5-3 loss to McEwen on April 23. Stopped 19 shots in a 2-2 tie with Sycamore on April 25.

Colten Hility, track and field, Northeast: Won the Montgomery County title in the 3,200 meters, finishing in a season-best 10:27.45. Ran another season-best in the 1,600 meters, finishing third in 4:48.10. Ran on the Eagles' 4x800-meter relay, which placed second with a time of 8:30.09.

Emanuel Mendez, soccer, West Creek: Found the net once in a 3-2 win at Northwest on April 23. Had a hat trick in a 6-1 win over East Robertson on April 25. Scored two goals in a 9-0 win over White House on April 26.

Brody Prairie, baseball, Rossview: Went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a stolen base and pitched three shutout innings, giving up two hits and striking out seven, in a 15-3 win at Kirkwood on April 23. Hit a grand slam in a 13-10 win at Green Hill on April 26.

Zachariah Taylor, track and field, Kenwood: Won the 100- and 200-meter races at the Montgomery County Championships, posting a time of 10.89 in the 100 and 22.42 in the 200. Also helped the Knights win the 4x100 and 4x200 relays in 43.47 and 1:29.49, respectively.

Devon Trahan, track and field, Clarksville: Won both the discus and shot put at the Montgomery County Championships. Recorded a distance of 129 feet, four inches in the discus and 42 feet, 7 inches in the shot put.
