Vote for the Austin-area boys high school athlete of the week
It's time to make your choice for the Covert Chevrolet Bastrop Austin-Area Boys Athlete of the Week for April 8-13. Glenn soccer player Keller Marchant was voted the top boys athlete for April 1-6.
This week's list of five nominees is made up of four baseball players and a lacrosse player:
Hudson Hartgrove, Cedar Ridge baseball
Hartgrove went 3-for-4 with a triple, double and three RBIs during the Raiders’ district win over Vandegrift.
Cooper Rummell, Dripping Springs baseball
Rummell pitched six scoreless innings with nine strikeouts to pace the Tigers in a 3-0 win against Lake Travis.
Oscar Salazar, Rouse baseball
Salazar pitched a one-hit shutout with 10 strikeouts and went 2-for-3 with a double and RBI to lead the Raiders past Hays 7-0.
Sam Stevens, McCallum baseball
Stevens recorded a perfect game with 15 strikeouts in the Knights’ 8-0 win vs. Navarro.
Felix Tambellini, St. Michael’s lacrosse
Tambellini scored nine goals and had two assists to lead the Crusaders to a key district win over Hyde Park.
