The match will be the third USWNT game played in Cincinnati during the FC Cincinnati era, with the first occurring in 2017 at the University of Cincinnati's Nippert Stadium followed by a Sept. 21, 2021 friendly at TQL Stadium against Paraguay.

Since FC Cincinnati came into existence in 2015 and began playing matches in 2016, U.S. Soccer has brought its men's and women's national teams to the city a combined seven times including the USWNT match in September.

“We are thrilled to again host the U.S. Women’s National Team at TQL Stadium,” said Jeff Berding, FC Cincinnati co-chief executive officer, in a team news release. “It will be a fun evening this September to showcase our award-winning stadium and incredible sports vibe in Cincinnati. We have a proud history of hosting exciting events with U.S. Soccer, including the USWNT’s 8-0 win over Paraguay and the USMNT’s Dos a Cero victory over Mexico in World Cup qualifying, both in 2021. We are looking forward to welcoming Rose Lavelle and Aubrey Kingsbury back home from the World Cup as the USWNT and South Africa come to the Queen City.”

Per a U.S. Soccer news release, ticket sales for both matches will begin on Wednesday, July 19 with the public sale beginning on Tuesday, July 25. Depending on remaining ticket availability, groups of 20 or more can order at ussoccer.com starting Wednesday, July 26.

The USMNT this summer will feature local products in Lavelle and Kingsbury at the World Cup. Group play for the Americans begins July 21 against Vietnam (9 p.m.) and continues against the Netherlands July 26 (9 p.m.) and Portugal Aug. 1 (3 a.m.).
