Ty Cobb named Division II Bobby Bell College Impact Player of the Year

Mar. 27—MINNEAPOLIS — The Minnesota Football Honors and the Minnesota Chapter of the National Football Foundation announced its winners of this year's Bobby Bell College Impact Player of the Year Award winners across all three divisions of NCAA Football.

Bemidji State football senior All-American Ty Cobb was named the Division II Bobby Bell College Impact Player of the Year.

The Bobby Bell College Impact Player of the Year Award honors the most impactful Minnesota college football player at the Division I, II and III levels. A winner from each Division was selected by a voting committee comprised of Minnesota Chapter of the National Football Foundation board members.

Tyler Nubin (Minnesota) won the Division I award, while Jake Breitbach (Gustavus Adolphus) won the award at the Division III level.

Cobb was named to the D2CAA All-America First Team, Associated Press All-America First Team, Don Hansen All-America Second Team and D2Football.com Elite-100 Team after helping the Beavers reach the second round of the NCAA Division II Football Tournament for the third consecutive season.

Cobb, also a finalist for the Gene Upshaw Award as the best offensive or defensive lineman in Division II, started all 12 games at right tackle this season and helped the BSU offense average 30.5 points per game and 399.2 yards per game. In over 1,400 snaps, Cobb only allowed four sacks throughout his four-year career and started 38 straight games.

Cobb is also playing with the Sioux Falls Storm in the Indoor Football League. The Storm opened its 2024 season with a 38-32 overtime loss against the Quad City Steamwheelers.
