A truck race pre-empted the start of Washington-Stanford and fans were quite unhappy

Three red flags for accidents late in Friday night’s Camping World Truck Series race moved the start of No. 9 Washington’s game at Stanford from Fox Sports 1 to Fox Sports 2.

And fans were displeased.

The college football game was set to kick off at 10:30 p.m., after the conclusion of the 150-mile truck race of course. But a flurry of late wrecks — and long cleanups for them — meant the race kept going and going and going.

The game was moved to Fox Sports 2. But FS2 is available in far fewer homes than Fox Sports 1. That turned out to be a problem for many folks.

OK, you get the idea. While we understand college football fans’ frustration, the game was available on the Fox Sports Go app. And no network makes the decision to leave a sporting event with the outcome in doubt to go to the beginning of another event. That simply doesn’t happen. Fox made the right call sticking with the truck race, even if many Pac-12 fans were unhappy.

Johnny Sauter won the race in case you were wondering.
