Titans fall behind Colts in USA TODAY’s latest power rankings

The Tennessee Titans have fallen outside the top 10 in the latest power rankings from USA TODAY’s Nate Davis.

Davis places the Titans at No. 11 on his list, five spots lower than they were in his previous version. Also of note, the Colts landed in a higher spot at No. 8 after landing quarterback Matt Ryan in a trade with the Atlanta Falcons.

11. Titans (5): Division winners the past two years, they’ve also been one-and-done in the playoffs both times and don’t appear to be getting appreciably better in a conference absorbing so much high-priced talent.

While the Titans have upgraded the tight end and wide receiver positions with the signing of Austin Hooper and trade for Robert Woods, there really isn’t much else to get excited about.

Tennessee still has needs to address on the offensive line (guard and tackle), and more help is needed at wide receiver.

As far as their in-house guard and tackle options go, guys like Jamarco Jones, Aaron Brewer and Dillon Radunz have little to no starting experience and aren’t locks to be upgrades over Rodger Saffold and David Quessenberry.

We expect the Titans will address all of those aforementioned needs in the upcoming draft, but as we’ve seen the past few years, there is no guarantee young players will work out, let alone provide the immediate impact the Titans need.

There is still plenty of time for general manager Jon Robinson to shore up the team’s biggest issues, but with little money to work with and limited options available, we’re not expecting anything major coming down the ‘pike.
