Highlights from Thursday in high school sports:

BOYS SOCCER

  • Mariodavid Vega scored two goals, Dominic Chavez had a goal, and Pabel Ayala had an assist to lead Oxnard (12-5-1, 5-3-1) to a 3-2 victory over Ventura in a Channel League match. Marcos Hernandez had a goal and an assist, Gio Mungia scored a goal, and Victor Vasquez had an assist for the Cougars (9-4-2, 5-3-1).

  • Michael Sauceda finished with two goals and an assist, Adrian Arroyo and Jorge Alfaro scored goals, and Osmin Chavez, David Posadas and Bryant Martinez had assists to lead first-place Pacifica (13-5-1, 6-2-1) to a 4-3 victory over Santa Barbara in a Channel League match.

  • David Marmolejo had a goal and an assist and Brandon Fuchs scored a goal for Rio Mesa (8-8-5, 1-6-2) in its 4-2 loss to San Marcos in a Channel League match.

GIRLS SOCCER

  • Amalia Nolan netted a hat trick, Kai Penn finished with a goal and three assists, Tatiana Padilla had a goal and two assists, and Emma Gray made seven saves as Buena (10-3-1, 8-0-1) remained unbeaten in Channel League play with a 5-1 victory over Dos Pueblos.

  • Jenny Salas scored two goals, Sienna Pimentel had a goal and an assist, Allison Ruiz had a goal, and Karla Alatorre and Meztli Zambrano had assists to lead Oxnard (9-3-1, 6-2-1) to a 4-3 win over Ventura in a Channel League match. Kate Wright netted a hat trick, Izzy Gragg had two assists and Danika Simpson had an assist for the Cougars (6-10-1, 3-5).

  • Samantha Quinonez scored a goal on a 25-yard free kick, Sophia Ramirez netted two goals, and Mya Bautista had an assist to lead Rio Mesa (7-5-4, 3-4-2) to a 3-0 victory over San Marcos in a Channel League match.

  • Pacifica (4-8-1, 4-4-1) earned a 3-0 victory over Santa Barbara in a Channel League match.

  • Jillian Estrada scored on a header off a cross by Maggie Kearin for the winning goal in the closing minutes, Charlotte Wilfert was superb in net, and Brianna Bergstrom led the defense to lift La Reina (6-4-1, 4-1) to a 2-1 victory over Grace Brethren in a Frontier League match.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

  • Kai Staniland scored 20 points, Skyler Knight had 18 points, Jessie Sebek had 10 points, Emily Rea contributed eight points, and Kaiya Cooke added five points as Ventura (19-3, 7-1) took sole possession of first place in the Channel League with a 68-33 win over Dos Pueblos.

  • Skye Thomas finished with 16 points and 10 rebounds, Karisma Lewis had 14 points and seven rebounds, and Riannah Lopez scored 14 points as Buena (15-5, 6-2) forged a second-place tie in the Channel League with a 49-40 win over Oxnard. Sofia Salgado scored 12 points, Kayla Lumas had 11 points and Sienna Angell added eight points for the Yellowjackets (17-5, 6-2).

  • Sarah Cosio had 25 points, six rebounds, three steals and two assists, Bella Rico finished with 12 points, six steals and five rebounds, and Milan Garcia added five points to lead St. Bonaventure (12-7, 4-1) to a 43-34 win over Foothill Tech (8-11, 4-1) to forge a first-place tie in the Tri-Valley League.

  • Alyssa Olmos finished with 12 points, five rebounds, four steals and three assists, Miranda Williams had eight points, two rebounds and two steals, Erika Flores had six points, seven rebounds, four steals and three assists, Angelina Serna had three points and four rebounds, and Jenna Gutierrez had three points and two rebounds for Santa Clara in its 45-32 loss to Bishop Diego in a Tri-Valley League game.

  • Jojo Camper scored 25 points, Leyna Spiros had 22 points, and Abby Thatcher contributed eight points to lead Hillcrest Christian (5-3, 3-2) to a 55-21 win over Beacon Hill in an Omega League game.

  • Holland Hawks had 10 points and seven rebounds and Ava Nebroski had 10 points and six rebounds for La Reina in its 42-29 loss to Newbury Park Adventist in a nonleague game.

BOYS BASKETBALL

  • JJ De Santiago scored 18 points, David Alvarez had 15 points, Jose Valdovinos had 13 points, and Carlos Xicotencatl and Juan Rea each added five points as Santa Paula (18-5, 7-0) stayed perfect in Citrus Coast League play with a 59-49 victory over Fillmore. Valdovinos set the school record for steals in a season with his 79th.

  • Rajai Moody scored 14 points, Joshua Fernandez had 11 points and Nazir Ivey had 10 points to lead Channel Islands to a 53-46 win over Carpinteria in a Citrus Coast League game.

  • Cayden Budlong finished with 15 points, four steals and four rebounds, Rob Holdsworth had nine points and three rebounds, Jeremy Kirchner had eight points and eight rebounds, and Jesse Kirkland had eight points and five rebounds to lead Nordhoff (4-16, 3-6) to a 47-43 win over Hueneme in a Citrus Coast League game. Jayani Cortez scored 11 points and Malachi Perry had 10 points for the Vikings (4-17, 2-5).

  • Carter Reid had 21 points and six rebounds, Tyler Pickett finished with 16 points and 10 rebounds, Caymen Wimmer had 10 points and 12 rebounds, Will Friel had 10 points and eight rebounds, and Mason Stueber added nine points and five assists to lead Hillcrest Christian (15-5, 4-0) to a 78-45 win over Beacon Hill in an Omega League game.

BOYS WRESTLING

  • Jackson Riggio (113 pounds) Talia Smith (120), Darius Mello (132), Matt Siegel (150) and Dean Drello (190) all won by pin as Thousand Oaks improved to 3-0 in the Marmonte League with a 55-21 victory over Calabasas. The Lancers face Newbury Park for the league title on Tuesday.

  • Gavin Cortez, Javier Ramirez, Isaac Lopez, Sal Bibian, Nathaniel Moreno, Nathaniel Dominguez and Ayden Segovia all won by pin as Pacifica improved to 4-2 in the Channel League with a win over Dos Pueblos.

GIRLS WATER POLO

  • Luciana Grooms finished with four goals, three steals and three drawn exclusions, Itati Garcia-Pereza scored three goals, Ariana Basua had two goals and two steals, and Alena Espinoza had four blocks to lead Rio Mesa to a 14-9 victory over Santa Barbara in a Channel League game.

  • Charlotte Powell made eight saves and four steals and Deanna Soto finished with four goals and four steals to lead Santa Paula (12-5, 6-0) to a 10-0 win over Hueneme in a Citrus Coast League game.
