Here are Thursday's high school sports results for the Appleton area

BASEBALL

Kimberly 3, Appleton North 2

KIMBERLY - In a battle between the top two teams in the Fox Valley Association, the Papermakers plated a run in the bottom of the ninth inning to earn the extra-inning victory.

Both teams scored a run in the first, before Kimberly took a 2-1 lead in the second. North evened things with a run in the fifth and the game stayed that way until the ninth.

Braeden Ellefson led the Papermakers, going 2-for-4 with a double and one RBI, while Bryson Vieth and Tanner Hart added two hits each.

Brady Koester went five innings, allowing two unearned runs on three hits with three walks and nine strikeouts. Ayden Tomlinson picked up the win, pitching the final four innings, allowing one hit and one walk while striking out three.

Brandon Schopf had two hits for the Lightning. Ryan Tesch took the loss, going 3⅔ innings, allowing one unearned run on three hits while striking out four.

The win moves Kimberly to 11-1 in the FVA and 14-1 overall, while Appleton North falls to 11-2 and 13-3.

Kaukauna 1, Appleton West 0

APPLETON - Bron Schaefer pitched a complete game and struck out 14 batters to lead the Ghosts past the Terrors.

Schaefer allowed only one hit and walked two.

Aiden Boylan drove in the only run for Kaukauna, scoring Isaac Maas.

Hortonville 1, Neenah 0

HORTONVILLE - Taiven Gass pitched a complete game for the Polar Bears in the shutout over the Rockets.

Gass allowed four hits, walked one and struck out three.

Rashaud Kastner had a hit and drove in the only run for Hortonville.

Mack Krause pitched six innings for Neenah. He allowed three hits, walked two and struck out five.

Denmark 5, Fox Valley Lutheran 4

DENMARK - The Vikings’ David Dittmer walked, stole second and scored on Braedyn Heezen’s single to right field in the 11th inning to give Denmark the win over the Foxes.

The game was a continuation of the game suspended after 10 innings due to darkness on April 18.

Dittmer pitched the final inning for Denmark, striking out three while walking two.

Dittmer and Brandon Dvorak both had two hits.

Dvorak pitched the first four innings, allowing one run on zero hits while striking out four. Case Delarwelle pitched 4⅔ innings of relief, allowing one run on two hits.

Jacob Bickel had a two-run single for Fox Valley Lutheran in the sixth inning to tie the game 4-4.

Denmark is 13-3 overall and 11-2 in the North Eastern Conference. FVL is 9-4 in the conference.

Chilton 16-1, New Holstein 5-4

NEW HOLSTEIN - The Tigers scored in all six innings to win the first game 16-5 before the Huskies came back to earn a split of the doubleheader with a 4-1 win in the second game.

Slaytt Nolan, Hunter Rolbiecki and Ryan Pierquet each had four hits for Chilton in the opener. Nolan had three doubles and four RBI, and Rolbiecki had two doubles, a triple and a home run and five RBI. Hudson Ludwig added two hits.

Peyton Juckem pitched a complete game for Chilton. He allowed four hits, four runs (two earned) and struck out seven.

Rolbiecki had two hits and an RBI for the Tigers in the second game.

Pierquet took the loss for Chilton. He pitched 6⅔ innings, gave up four hits, four runs (one earned) and struck out four.

Bonduel 5, Shiocton 1

SHIOCTON - The Bears struck for one run in the first before adding three in the fifth and one in the sixth to earn the Central Wisconsin Conference-East win.

The Chiefs scored their lone run in the bottom of the fifth.

Cade Johnson earned the win, pitching seven innings, allowing one run on four hits, walking one and striking out four.

James Mutchie took the loss for Shiocton, pitching five innings, allowing four runs, six hits and four walks while striking out five.

Noah Weier led the Bears at the plate with two hits and two RBI.

Bonduel moves to 13-3 overall and 9-1 in CWC-East play.

Wittenberg-Birnamwood 8, Manawa 5

MANAWA - The Chargers scored three runs in the first, two in the third and three in the fourth to earn the Central Wisconsin Conference win.

Manawa scored its runs with two in the first, two in the second and one in the sixth.

Pacing the Wolves was Tate Drummond, who was 3-for-3 with two RBI. Dakota Stroud was 2-for-4 with two RBI, and Spencer Strebe was 2-for-4 with two runs scored.

SOFTBALL

Kaukauna 1, Neenah 0

NEENAH - Cassidy Vandenheuvel’s RBI double in the top of the 10th inning proved to be the game-winning hit in the Ghosts’ victory over the Rockets.

Kaukauna ace Karly Meredith struck out 22 batters and allowed just one hit as the Ghosts won their 99th consecutive game. Kaukauna (18-0 overall, 15-0 Fox Valley Association) goes for win No. 100 in a row at home against Kimberly on Friday.

Taryn Christopher had two hits for the Ghosts.

Oshkosh West 4, Kimberly 3

KIMBERLY - The Wildcats got a two-run home run from Colleen Fitzpatrick and a solo home run from Laina Hammen to defeat the Papermakers.

Hailey Hammen had three hits and scored twice.

Alayna Sadowska picked up the win for Oshkosh West, pitching seven innings and striking out five while walking one.

St. Mary Catholic 7, Manitowoc Lutheran 1

FOX CROSSING - The Zephyrs scored seven runs in the bottom of the sixth inning in the victory over the Lancers.

Rhiannon Reichenbacher had a two-run single in the winning rally for SMC. The Zephyrs had five hits in the inning.

Adel Schneider had two hits and an RBI for SMC. Nevaeh Saringer also had two hits.

Reichenbacher was also the winning pitcher. She pitched a complete game, allowed seven hits and struck out eight.

Denmark 15, Wrightstown 0

DENMARK - The Vikings scored four runs in both the first and second innings and then added seven runs in the third inning in their win over the Tigers, stretching their win streak to six games.

Denmark improves to 13-3 in the North Eastern Conference and 16-5 overall.

Wrightstown is now 5-10 in conference play and 6-12 overall.

Luxemburg-Casco 13, Little Chute 0

LITTLE CHUTE - The Spartans are now 14-1 in the North Eastern Conference and 19-1 overall and maintained their one-game lead over Freedom (15-5, 13-2) in the conference.

Little Chute fell to 1-14 in conference play and 1-17 overall.

GIRLS SOCCER

Appleton North 1, Appleton East 0

APPLETON - Kalli Drexler had the lone goal in the first half, scoring unassisted, as the Lightning earned the Fox Valley Association win.

Goalkeeper Serena Jaber earned the shutout for North.

Kimberly 6, Kaukauna 0

KIMBERLY - Senah Hanes scored three goals in the first 13 minutes for the Papermakers in the Fox Valley Association victory over the Ghosts.

Emily McCarthy, Abby Lom and Brenna Wilson also scored in the first half as Kimberly led 6-0 at halftime.

Hanes added two assists.

Appleton West 6, Oshkosh North 0

OSHKOSH - The Terrors got goals from six players as they beat the Spartans in Fox Valley Association action.

Leading the way for Appleton West was Addyson Knoebel with a goal and two assists. Madison Milhaupt and Allison Lemke had a goal and an assist. Addyson Edwards, Kaylee Baye and Kami Beyersdorf also scored. Lilah Pitterle added an assist.

Kayda Aeby made three saves in net for the Terrors.

Oshkosh West 3, Hortonville 0

OSHKOSH - The Wildcats got goals from Brenna Gehri, Kaitlyn Schaller and Morgan Toman in the win over the Polar Bears.

Ava Pamer and Gehri had an assist for Oshkosh West, while Hannah Wolf had three saves in goal for the Wildcats.

Winneconne 2, Xavier 0

APPLETON - Harper Neace and Ava Pahl scored for the Wolves in the victory over the Hawks.

Millie Braman had two assists for Winneconne.

Winneconne goalie Macy Dodd made two saves.
