Three keys to a victory: Bengals face the Giants

The Cincinnati Bengals will face the Giants on Monday in East Rutherford New Jersey. The prime time game has a lot of importance for both teams. The Giants are 5-3 and in second place behind the 7-1 Cowboys in the NFC East. The NFC East is playing the best football of any division right now with every team at .500 or better. Cincinnati is in third place in the AFC North but only one game behind the 4-4 Ravens and Steelers. Both teams are fighting for a playoff spot and it should be a good game on Monday Night. Here are three keys for the Bengals that should lead to a victory.

1.The Bengals run game has a good night. The Giants defense ranks 23rd overall and 9th against the run only allowing 93 yards per game. Cincinnati will need to get Giovani Bernard and Jeremy Hill going and control the ball and time of possession. Keeping the Giants 6th ranked passing offense off of the field will help the Bengals secure the victory.

2. The Bengals pass defense plays better this week then it did against the Redskins in London. The Bengals gave up 458 passing yards to Kirk Cousins in their overtime tie. Currently the Bengals rank 25th overall and 21st against the pass. They definitely will need to play better against a Giants passing attack that is solid and ranks 6th in the league with 271 yards per game.

3.Cincinnati special teams make a big play. This year the Bengals special teams have managed to be underwhelming. There has been no big returns on punts and kickoffs. In the preseason the Bengals released Brandon Tate hoping the Alex Ericson would provide a spark which so far this year has not happened. This season there has been no momentum swings that in previous years helped Cincinnati gain a victory. Not only has the returns suffered but the usually reliable Mike Nugent has struggled, missing makeable field goals that could have lead to victories.
