St. John Bosco cornerback Marcelles Williams commits to USC

This was a big recruiting weekend for USC. Before noon on Sunday, the Trojans had landed a significant commitment.

Four-star St. John Bosco cornerback Marcelles Williams committed to USC. Marcelles is the brother of USC defensive back Max Williams. USC beat out Oklahoma and UCLA for this commitment.

In recent years, USC football has had comparatively more success recruiting Mater Dei than St. John Bosco, so while the value of getting a four-star cornerback is considerable in and of itself, the importance of landing a top Bosco prospect is a significant added component to this recruitment.

Donte Williams is doing a lot of good work in recruiting future members of the USC secondary. He landed Dakoda Fields earlier in June. This is why Lincoln Riley chose to retain Williams when the Oklahoma coach came to USC in November of 2021.
