Southside girls bowling, Cara Clontz win state titles, the fifth team title in program history

Southside girls bowling and sophomore Cora Clontz took home state titles during the AHSAA state bowling championships in Mobile.

The state title was clinched as Southside (26-4) beat Scottsboro 4-2 in the finals on Friday. It is the Lady Panthers fifth state title in nine seasons, all coming under head coach Zachary Blume, who never thought he'd be in a spot to win one, let alone five.

"I would've never believed when I first started coaching bowling, almost ten years ago that I would win one state title and to win five is just, its indescribable," Blume said.
