Softball: 2024 watchlist for the season

That sound a glove makes when a softball hits it; the ping of bat meeting ball; the sound of girls sliding into a base; the noise of loud cheering from from the benches can only mean one thing: Softball is back.

Softball is back in a big way and as we get closer to know who are the 'Nine that Shine', below is a lengthy list of some of the top returning players across the Rockland, Westchester and Putnam counties.

Having a lot of names shows that Section 1 softball has a lot of returning talent and a few names you might not have heard of, but you will.

The list is headlined by members of the Section 1 champion North Rockland, Ursuline, Rye Neck and Tuckahoe teams.
