SEC Softball Tournament weather updates: Thursday's quarterfinals games face second lightning delay
Editor's note: This story has been updated from a previous version.
The 2024 SEC Softball Tournament was delayed Thursday at Auburn's Jane B. Moore Field due to inclement weather.
The quarterfinal round of the tournament was scheduled to begin at 11 a.m. CT, but the SEC posted on X (formerly known as Twitter) at 10:24 a.m. that it would be going into a rain delay. At 10:55 a.m., the account said they were under an "extended delay. The Tennessee Vols X account called the delay an "indefinite rain delay" and that the next update would come at 1 p.m. CT.
LSU-Tennessee resumed at 5 p.m. Thursday, followed by Missouri-Arkansas 35 minutes after the conclusion of that game. At least, that was the plan — until the Tigers and Razorbacks' game was delayed by yet another lightning delay in their game.
