Scouts line up to see Cuban pitch in Mexico

About 45 major league scouts were in Tijuana, Mexico, on Friday night to watch Cuban pitcher Miguel Alfredo Gonzalez.

Gonzalez, 26, is playing with the Tijuana Toros so he can be showcased to major league teams.

CBS Sports reported that the Boston Red Sox, Chicago Cubs, Los Angeles Angels and Los Angeles Dodgers are among the teams interested in Gonzalez.

Some scouts told CBS Sports that Gonzalez's price tag could $40 million over four years while others said it could take five years and $60 million to land him.

The Dodgers are reportedly the team most interested in Gonzalez, but the Red Sox had eight representatives, including general manager Ben Cherington, in Tijuana to see him pitch.
