Rockets match their own NBA 3-point record in rout of Kings

The Houston Rockets’ push up the Western Conference standings continued Tuesday in typical Rockets fashion.

Houston beat the Sacramento Kings, 130-105 behind a 36-point, 10-assist effort from James Harden. In doing so, the Rockets tied their own NBA record for 3-pointers hit in a game with 26.

Nine Rockets hit 3-pointers

Harden led the way, connecting on 7-of-12 attempts from distance. Eric Gordon hit 5-of-10 and Danuel House Jr. hit 4-of-10 as nine different Rockets connected on 3-pointers.

The tally matches the total Houston hit in December in a 136-118 win over the Washington Wizards, a night that broke the previous record of 25 held by the 2017 Cleveland Cavaliers.

Rockets continue move up the standings

With the win, Houston moves a half game ahead of the Portland Trail Blazers for third place in the West, 1½ games behind the third-place Denver Nuggets, who lost to the first-place Golden State Warriors on Tuesday.

Houston has now won 17 of its last 20 games and is in striking distance of a top-two seed in the Western Conference playoffs with four games remaining.
