Razorbacks Wire score predictions for Arkansas vs Liberty

Hours from kickoff inside Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium for the first time in about a month, and Arkansas fans are lining up by the thousands already for homecoming.

The Hogs face Liberty at 3 p.m. on Saturday, seeking to become bowl eligible. The Flames are ranked No. 23 in the country.

An Arkansas win would ensure a second straight season at .500 or better. The last time the Razorbacks had two such seasons consecutively was 2015-16 when Bret Bielema was coach. The team could still reach last year’s eight-win regular-season threshold, too, even with a loss, although the remaining three games after Liberty are of the SEC variety and Arkansas isn’t expected to be favored in two of them.

But on Saturday, the Razorbacks are team Las Vegas says should win. How about locally?

Here are five predictions – three score predictions – from Razorbacks Wire staffers Kendall Hilton, Connor Goodson and E. Wayne.

Enjoy the game.

If the Arkansas defense can hold Liberty to just 21 points, it will be a major win for the Hogs on that side of the ball.

The 28 points predicted by Kendall Hilton would be the third-lowest total of the season for the Hogs. The two other times they failed to break 21 points, they lost.

Razorbacks Wire staff is predicting a clean sweep on Saturday against Liberty. A win would put Arkansas into bowl eligibility, no small feat with what would be three games left.

AJ Green has his best game of the season

Arkansas’ No. 2 running back hasn’t had a breakout game yet this year. His best came in Week 2 against South Carolina when he ran for more than 40 yards and had a touchdown. Green has the talent, though, so our say is that he goes for 60 yards or more with a score.

Arkansas defense has two or more interceptions

Liberty will have to throw more than they’d prefer if the score predictions above hold. And while the Flames can sling it, Arkansas will likely be aggressive and force tough throws, leading to two picks.
