OHSAA BASEBALL TOURNAMENT SECTIONAL SEMIFINALS
Rittman 6, Smithville 1
Rittman saved its best for the playoffs, picking up a sectional win over WCAL foe Smithville.
Timothy Johnson's performance on the mound led the way, scattering six hits during a complete-game performance. Johnson also had a pair of hits and drove in a run to help his cause. Rittman moves on to face top-seeded Columbia on the road in the sectional finals.

The combination of David Mcle and Aaron Hales on the mound kept Northwestern in it but Beachwood's Josh Rosenblitt's 13-strikeout no-hitter was too much to overcome in the playoff opener.

Abby Workman's RBI single in the sixth inning proved to be the game-winner in a hard-fought sectional final to move Norwayne on to the district stage.
Norwayne scored three runs over the fifth and sixth innings to overcome a 4-3 deficit and pick up the postseason victory.
