Prep Girls Soccer: CIF-SS playoff schedules, local players to watch
The CIF-Southern Section playoff pairings for girls soccer were released Saturday morning and 12 area teams will have a shot at capturing a title.
The Division 3 bracket is loaded with the High Desert’s top three programs, with Apple Valley receiving the No. 2 seed.
The Sun Devils, after capturing the Mojave River League title, begin the playoffs with a home game against the winner of the Valley View and Canyon wild-card match.
Oak Hills and Granite Hills are also in the Division 3 bracket, opposite of Apple Valley. The Bulldogs and Cougars could potentially meet in the semifinals.
Granite Hills is home against Foothill, while Oak Hills opens on the road against Patriot.
University Prep, which captured the Cross Valley League title, is the lone local team in Div. 4, and will be home in the first round.
There are four High Desert teams in the Div. 5 bracket, including two DSL teams.
Silver Valley is the lone team from the High Desert to receive a playoff berth as a wildcard, looking to crack the final bracket of 32 teams.
The wildcard round is scheduled for Tuesday afternoon, while the first round is set for Thursday. Here’s a look at the local action.
