There were plenty of great performances last week on the courts. High school sports reporter Rich Garven takes a look at 12 of the best of them for readers to vote on for the Hometeam boys’ basketball player of the week.

Nicholas Bellofatto, Westborough

The senior scored 21 points versus Douglas and collected a career-high 35 against North Middlesex as the Rangers recorded a pair of wins to improve to 3-0.

Tommy Bergin, Ayer-Shirley

The junior guard scored a career-high 33 points against St. Bernard’s, a game-high 19 versus Littleton and 17 against West Boylston as the Pioneers recorded three wins to improve to 3-1.

Mark Dickson, Grafton

The senior center drained a buzzer-beater to force overtime while on his way to scoring a game-high 26 points versus Northbridge and added 16 against St. Paul as the Gators had a 2-0 week.

Ryan Fernandez, Quaboag

The senior made four 3-pointers and nine free throws while on his way to amassing a game-high 35 points as the Cougars opened the season with a win over Oxford.

Ethan Frisch, Clinton

The junior forward netted eight of his 21 points in overtime as the Gaels opened the season with a memorable, triple-overtime victory over neighboring rival Nashoba.

Chris Jean-Baptiste, St. Bernard’s

The senior scored 11 points in the fourth quarter to finish with 20 and 11 rebounds as the Bernardians came back to defeat Notre Dame (Lawrence) to break into the win column.

Steve Kett, Worcester Tech

The senior scored a game- and career-high 24 points as the Eagles evened their record at 1-1 with a wire-to-wire win over Auburn.

Victor Kukta Reyes, Fitchburg

The senior guard, who averaged 8.2 points last season, made four 3-pointers and five free throws while exploding for a career-high 31 points as the Red Raiders edged South, 55-54, to improve to 1-1.

Lucas Miglionico, Shepherd Hill

The senior guard sank seven free throws while scoring 22 points versus St. John’s and drained seven 3-pointers in a 27-point effort against Groton-Dunstable as the Rams moved to 3-0.

Caiden Stevens, Bartlett

The sophomore scored 23 points, including 15 of his team’s 18 in the fourth quarter, as the Indians rallied to edge Leicester in their season opener and led the way with 24 in a setback to Sutton.

Daniel Terrell, Maynard

The senior guard had the hot hand, scoring a game-high-tying 29 points – nearly triple his average from last winter – as the Tigers opened the season with a win over Lunenburg.

Chris Woods, Gardner

The senior guard drained back-to-back 3-pointers in the final 90 seconds to break a tie while on his way to collecting 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 steals in his varsity debut as the Wildcats topped Bromfield.
