Oklahoma State baseball's Nolan Schubart sets school record with 4 homers vs Wichita State

STILLWATER — Oklahoma State slugger Nolan Schubart made O’Brate Stadium his personal launching pad.

The 6-foot-5, 233-pound sophomore hit a program-record four home runs in Tuesday’s 21-6 run rule victory over Wichita State, moving the 16th-ranked Cowboys’ win streak to six.

On the night, Schubart went a perfect 5 for 5 with seven RBIs. His fifth hit? That went for extra bases, too. A two-run double in the first.

OSU hit a season-high nine homers in the game, with Colin Brueggemann connecting twice. Carson Benge, Aidan Meola and Avery Ortiz also went deep, with Benge’s being a grand slam.

But it was Schubart’s night.

The big left-hander had tied the record with three homers in a game earlier in his career. Entering the night, that had been achieved 18 times by 14 players. Schubart joined Roy York, Adam Carr and Trevor Boone as the lone Pokes to hit three or more homers in a single game on multiple occasions.

Here is a look at each homer:

Finally, Schubart capped OSU’s scoring with a full-count line drive over the right-field wall in the sixth. Though, he did have to confirm with umpires that it just cleared the wall.
