Ohio State DE J.T. Tuimoloau teams up with Giant Eagle, 1870 Society for shampoo deal

J.T. Tuimoloau is following in the footsteps of NFL players such as Patrick Mahomes and Troy Polamalu.

The Ohio State defensive end is teaming up with Giant Eagle and the 1870 Society name, image and likeness collective to release a dandruff shampoo where he is on the package. The shampoo is available at all Ohio Giant Eagle stores.

“With JT announcing he is coming back next season, he could go down as one of the Buckeyes’ all-time greats not only on the field, but off the field as well," 1870 Society vice president of operations Drew Esler said in a statement. "There is so much momentum around the program, and this is just another way Buckeye Nation can support all of its teams.”

Tuimoloau announced in January that he would return for his senior season in 2024, one of many Ohio State players to do so including defensive end Jack Sawyer and cornerback Denzel Burke.

The shampoo is the first product of what the 1870 Society is calling "a variety of items in Giant Eagle stories, all featuring top Ohio State student-athletes." The partnership will include frozen pizza, cookies and other items, and will feature athletes from the men's basketball, women's tennis and softball teams.

In 2023, Tuimolau, who was widely regarded as a potential first-round draft pick, recorded 38 tackles, 7 tackles-for-loss and 5 sacks.
