Ohio State football and Ohio Stadium's centennial celebration

More than 40,000 cubic yards of poured concrete and 4,000 tons of steel when it was built, Ohio Stadium is an iconic landmark.

Originally a $1.5 million investment, it is also – as Northwestern coach Pat Fitzgerald has called it – a cathedral of college football for the home team and a "Gladiator-like" venue for visitors. (Fitzgerald should know. He's been there as an opposing player, coach and as a fan.) Former OSU linebacker Joshua Perry refers to it as a living museum.

There's clearly something about it that makes it more than merely the site of Ohio State football's home games.
