North Carolina QB throws two-handed pick-six to seal game for Duke

We understand the desire of North Carolina quarterback Chazz Surratt to make a play and lead a comeback for his team. But that desire shouldn’t overrule the common sense to throw a pass like a soccer throw-in.

While he was trying to avoid a sack late in the fourth quarter with Duke winning 20-17, Surratt heaved a two-handed throw down the field that was intercepted by Bryon Fields Jr.

Fields then returned the ball 61 yards for a touchdown.

It’s one of the funniest interceptions we’ve ever seen. Had the pass been completed, Surratt looks like a hero. Instead, his team lost 27-17 and UNC is now 1-3 through the first four weeks of the season.

Duke, meanwhile, is 4-0.
