The annual EA Sports NHL Stanley Cup Playoff sim is here just hours before the 2017 tournament begins. And if history means anything, well, sorry, Nashville Predators fans.

In what would be a very juicy real life matchup, the EA Sports NHL 17 sim has P.K. Subban and Shea Weber squaring off against their old teams and battle to a Game 7 where the Predators come out on top for their first Stanley Cup.

Here’s the full NHL 17 bracket:

From EA Sports:

It was a back-and-forth game that featured stellar saves and highlight reel goals until Viktor Arvidsson scored with 17:37 left in the third period to give the Predators a 3-2 lead. Ryan Johansen would tack on an empty net goal late in the third period securing the first Stanley Cup in Nashville Predators franchise history.

What does this mean for the actual Predators? Pretty much the kiss of death. Here are the previous nine pre-playoff EA Sports sim champions and how their NHL seasons ended that spring:

2008: San Jose Sharks (2nd round)
2009: Boston Bruins (2nd round)
2010: Pittsburgh Penguins (2nd round)
2011: Vancouver Canucks (Stanley Cup Final)
2012: New York Rangers (Conference Final)
2013: St. Louis Blues (1st round)
2014: Boston Bruins (2nd round)
2015: New York Rangers (Conference Final)
2016: Washington Capitals (2nd round)

This is definitely up there with the Madden cover curse.
