NFL roundup: Cassel to stay Chiefs' QB, Eagles' Herremans may be lost for season
Matt Cassel will remain Kansas City's starting quarterback until Brady Quinn is cleared to return.
Chiefs coach Romeo Crennel said Wednesday that Quinn will get the job back when he's healthy. However, Quinn has yet to be cleared for action after suffering a concussion in a 26-16 loss to Oakland on Oct. 28.
Crennel also said defensive end Glenn Dorsey, who has a calf injury, won't play Monday night against the Steelers in Pittsburgh.
---A foot injury could sideline Philadelphia offensive tackle Todd Herremans for the rest of the season.
Herremans was injured in the Eagles' loss Monday night to New Orleans. The Eagles haven't released a statement on Herremans' status.
Coach Andy Reid called the injury a tendon strain after Monday's game.
"It's not good," a team official told CSNPhilly.com. "It doesn't look good at all. We're still waiting, but it looks bad."
According to CSNPhilly.com, Reid said Herremans had undergone an MRI and was to have a CT scan Wednesday. Herremans was on crutches Tuesday.
The injury isn't good news for a depleted offensive line that already is missing All-Pro left tackle Jason Peters, center Jason Kelce and guard Danny Watkins.

The NFL announced Wednesday that the league's week 12 schedule would remain unchanged. The Packers-Giants game was part of the NFL's flex scheduling option during Thanksgiving week and subject to change, but it will be shown in prime time by NBC-TV.
---Tennessee Titans quarterback Matt Hasselbeck reportedly has been fined for a horse-collar tackle Sunday on Chicago Bears cornerback Kelvin Hayden.
A source told ESPN.com that the NFL fined Hasselbeck $15,750 for bringing down Hayden after he recovered a fubmle by Titans tight end Jared Cook at the 4-yard line in the fourth quarter with the Bears leading 44-12.
In roster moves Wednesday, the Titans placed right guard Leroy Harris on injured reserve with a torn ligament in his right knee and signed defensive end Jarius Wynn and guard Kyle DeVan.
---The NFL is sticking it to the San Diego Chargers.
The league announced Wednesday that it has fined the Chargers $20,000 for trying to hide towels with a concealed "sticky" substance to enhance grip during an Oct. 15 game against Denver.
"The NFL has determined that the club did not violate a competitive rule by use of the towels," the league said in a statement. "However, NFL game officials are charged with protecting the integrity and competitive fairness of the games and club staff members, like players and coaches, have a clear obligation to cooperate in this effort and comply with the direction of game officials. As a result of the failure of club staff to follow the directive of a game official to immediately surrender the towels when directed to do so, and to attempt to conceal the towels, the Chargers have been fined $20,000."
The NFL went on to say such towels are no longer legal.
"In order to ensure that products that may have a possible competitive effect are given appropriate review and testing, our office -- after consultation with the Competition Committee -- has advised all clubs that the use of towels or other products that contain any type of adhesive substance is now prohibited on game days until further notice."
