NFL Draft: Panthers deal with A.J. Bouye improves Eagles chances of landing a top CB prospect

Depending on whom you ask, the Dallas Cowboys are either enamored with Kyle Pitts or set to draft an edge rusher out of Michigan.

A day after the Carolina Panthers traded for quarterback Sam Darnold, the rebuilding franchise signed veteran cornerback A.J. Bouye to a deal.

Both moves likely eliminated the Panthers from choosing a quarterback or cornerback at No. 8 overall, likely improving Philadelphia’s chances of getting either Jaycee Horn or Patrick Surtain.

The four quarterbacks are expected to be Trevor Lawrence (Jaguars), Zach Wilson (Jets), Justin Fields or Mack Jones (49ers), and Trey Lance.

If Mack Jones is able to bust up the party, that’ll make five.

The Bengals will take Ja’Marr Chase or Penei Sewell, while Atlanta could still go quarterback or Kyle Pitts depending on what San Francisco does, potentially eliminating seven players off the board.

That leaves Miami, Detroit, Dallas, and the Giants likely all going skill positions as well, unless the Cowboys go edger usher or something else.

Philadelphia is now in a fight to get the best players from a group that includes Surtain II or Horn.
