NFL 2018: Yahoo Sports' predictions for Super Bowl LIII, and the 2018 playoff teams
At this time last year, the Philadelphia Eagles were a long shot to win the Super Bowl. That’s what makes the NFL fun to watch.
While not all 32 teams are Super Bowl contenders, many teams around the league feel like they have a chance. You can look through our Super Bowl picks at the bottom, and see many different teams mentioned. You’ll also find a couple of notable teams — the two that played in last year’s Super Bowl — not mentioned at all.

There’s nothing wrong with superteams. The Golden State Warriors are exciting to watch. But it’s also a thrill when we begin a season with no idea how it will turn out. Our panel of writers gave its playoff picks before the season kicks off (which happens Thursday night with Falcons-Eagles on the Yahoo Sports app), and then its predictions on who will win Super Bowl LII (check out our picks for MVP and other major awards here):
