UFC on FX 6 Attendance and Gate: Sotiropoulos vs. Pearson Deemed a Sellout

The UFC’s first show on Australia’s Gold Coast, UFC on FX 6: Sotiropoulos vs. Pearson, took place before a sold out crowd of 5,133 fans, drawing a live a gate of $900,000, according to UFC officials.

UFC on FX 6 took place at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre in Queensland, a venue that the promotion stepped into without having a chance to scout it out first due to scheduling issues.

“This event was actually planned to occur a week earlier,” said the UFC’s Marshall Zelaznik, “but due to TV schedules in the U.S., we pushed it a week and that brought us to this venue, which was a really nice surprise. We actually didn't see the venue when we committed to it.”

The event also served as the de facto finale for TUF: The Smashes, Australia’s first edition of The Ultimate Fighter reality series.

TUF coaches George Sotiropoulos and Ross Pearson headlined the event with Pearson scoring a knockout, while Robert Whittaker won the welterweight division of the TUF tournament and Norman Parke won the lightweight honors.
