LaLiga: Real Madrid target Borussia Dortmund star Ousmane Dembele

Borussia Dortmund rising star Ousmane Dembele recently revealed that he sees his future being in Spain - Barcelona to be precise.

A source close to the player revealed to Emre Sarigul for Yahoo Sport UK that there is interest from Spain but not from Barcelona. Instead, reigning La Liga champions rivals Real Madrid have made an enquiry for the 19-year-old.

Per the source, the Madrid based giants have been keeping close tabs on Dembele and have been scouting him since his time at Rennes prior to joining Dortmund over the summer transfer window.

The Merengues scouts were impressed with Dembele's display against them in the recent Champions League group stage clash which ended in a 2-2 draw and the club will continue to monitor his development over the course of the season.

There have been preliminary talks through intermediaries but Real have yet to submit a formal offer to Dortmund. The outcome of their transfer ban appeal at the Court of Arbitration of Sport (CAS) could determine the course of action taken by the club in regards to the 19-year-old forward.

The La Liga outfit will be hoping CAS overrule the FIFA ban imposed on the club which would prevent new players from being registered over the next two transfer windows until January 2018.

Dortmund could be set to make a staggering profit if they were to consider an end of season move for Dembele as he has another five-years remaining on his contract and the Bundesliga outfit are in no hurry to sell.

Dembele would be able to sign for Real next summer however, he would have to wait six months before being able to register for the club if the transfer ban is upheld by CAS.

Real would be forced into loaning Dembele out for six-months or the 19-year-old would have to spend half a season on the training field unable to play until the lifting of the transfer restriction.

The French international forward has had a whirlwind 14 months since making his debut with Rennes. Dembele joined Dortmund on a €15 million move from Rennes over the summer and he has already made 10 appearances for his new club scoring once while providing four assists.
