Cowboys-Redskins moves to prime time
The battle for the NFC East championship will play out in prime time next week.
The NFL announced that the Dallas Cowboys' game against the Redskins in Washington was moved to an 8:20 p.m. ET kickoff on NBC. The winner of the game will capture the division title and the No. 4 seed in the NFC playoffs.
The Redskins (9-6) still could sneak into the playoffs with a loss to the Cowboys (8-7), if other results go their way.
The league also changed the start time of two other games, with the Miami Dolphins' game at New England and the Green Bay Packers' game at Minnesota both now scheduled for 4:25 p.m. ET kickoffs.
CBS will air the AFC East game, in which the Patriots (11-4) will be aiming to earn the No. 1 or No. 2 seed in the AFC playoffs. However, New England would need help in the form of a loss by the Houston Texans (12-3) or the Denver Broncos (12-3) to finish one of the postseason-bye slots. The Texans play at the Indianapolis Colts, while the Broncos finish with a home game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
The Green Bay-Minnesota game will air on Fox. The Packers (11-4) would wrap up a playoff bye with victory, while the Vikings (9-6) would seal a wild-card berth with a win.
Both CBS and Fox will air two games in most markets next Sunday, according to the league.
