Nashville SC score vs. Charlotte FC: Live updates from MLS match

Nashville SC will look to stop its recent slide in MLS play against one of its Southern rivals when it welcomes Charlotte FC to Geodis Park on Saturday night.

Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. and Apple TV will stream the game for free.

Nashville SC hasn't won a league game since it beat D.C. United by a score of 2-0 on July 1. It lost its last four MLS matches before Wednesday's 0-0 draw against Inter Miami, in which it became the first team to hold Miami without a goal since Lionel Messi joined the team in July.

Currently, Nashville (11-6-9, 39 points) sits in seventh place in the Eastern Conference with eight regular-season games left, while Charlotte (7-9-9) is in 11th. The top seven teams in each conference qualify directly for the MLS Cup Playoffs first round, while the No. 8 and No. 9 seeds play in the Wild Card round.

CF Montreal (35 points), Chicago Fire (32 points) and D.C. United (30 points) are chasing Nashville, while Atlanta United is just two points ahead in sixth place.

Nashville beat Charlotte, 2-1, on May 20 at Bank of America Stadium in the teams' only other meeting this season. Reigning MLS MVP Hany Mukhtar scored both goals, including a game-winning penalty kick in stoppage time.

Nashville SC injury updates

Defender Walker Zimmerman and striker Sam Surridge missed the Inter Miami match due to lower-body injuries. Both Zimmerman and Surridge are listed as questionable for Saturday, as is midfielder Randall Leal.
