Mississippi State basketball vs. Texas A&M: Live score updates
A win here, in the final game of the regular season, does little for Mississippi State basketball but boost its pride.
Coach Ben Howland admitted the only chance the Bulldogs (17-13, 8-9 SEC) have of making the NCAA Tournament would be winning the SEC Tournament. But he didn't want to turn his attention away from Texas A&M (19-11, 8-9) on Saturday (7:30 p.m., SEC Network) because it's an opportunity to enter the conference tournament on an upswing.
"We want to get our 18th win," Howland said. "We want to finish 9-9 in our league and not 8-10."

Mississippi State has won just once in a true road game this season, and Saturday won't be an easy task. The Aggies are coming off three straight wins, including a 16-point victory over Alabama.
Texas A&M's defense can also cause issues, flooding one side of the court to diminish possible driving lanes. That will put more emphasis on faster paced ball movement and skip passes to find openings.
