NFL schedule: Which Miami Dolphins games are ready for prime-time TV in 2024?

The 2023 Dolphins were entertaining to the point that the networks scheduled four of their games for prime time. With the 2024 schedule expected to be released next Wednesday, here are five matchups that should entice the networks to place Miami under the lights again and on the NFL’s biggest stage:

San Francisco running back Christian McCaffrey looks for yards after a catch against the Dolphins.

Buffalo at Miami

This decided the AFC East last season and could do so again in 2024. Six of the past eight meetings with the Bills at Hard Rock have been one-score games, unlike the reverse meetings (the Dolphins often get spanked at Highmark Stadium).

If the NFL insists on playing on Christmas, even though it falls on a Wednesday this year, can it resist this matchup? It’s not just two of the more interesting teams in the NFL. A star on one of these teams is named Christian.

Miami at Houston

We’re figuring on the Texans and C.J. Stroud being network darlings in 2024. They’ll get prime-time love, so a visit by Tua, Tyreek & Co. would have to be considered.

Miami at L.A. Rams

Another Mike McDaniel bowl. Although he faces old pal Kyle Shanahan when the Dolphins face the 49ers, the game vs. the Rams pits him vs. another old colleague, Sean McVay. Not to mention, somebody get a camera isolated on ex-Ram Jalen Ramsey vs. Puka Nacua.

Arizona at Miami

Didn’t expect to see this on the list, did you? Think back to the 2020 season. Tua Tagovailoa was a 22-year-old rookie. Kyler Murray was a 23-year-old second-year QB. They put on a wicked show with Tagovailoa throwing two touchdown passes and finishing with a 122.3 passer rating. Murray threw for 283 and three scores (150.5 rating) in addition to rushing for 106 and a TD. Miami scored 10 points in the fourth quarter, including Jason Sanders’ deciding 50-yard field goal with 3½ minutes left in a 34-31 win. If this rematch can bring out the best in these two QBs again, we’re all for it.
