The 2024 Masters tournament starts this week, and all eyes are on the talented players getting ready to tee off in the first major of the year at Augusta National.

Jon Rahm, the defending Masters champion, is being overshadowed by 2022 champion Scottie Scheffler, as the pre-tournament favorite to add a second green jacket to his collection, according to BetMGM.

For Jordan Spieth, who won the Masters in 2015, current odds favor him to win his second green jacket with continued solid performances, having top-four finishes in six of his 10 starts at Augusta National.

Another stand-out golfer to take home the title is Rory McIlroy, who is participating in his 16th Masters and is aiming to win his first green jacket, which would complete his career Grand Slam after winning the other three major championships.

2024 Masters favorites to win based on odds

Here are the current favorites to win the 2024 Masters, according to BetMGM.

Odds as on Wednesday.

Scottie Scheffler: +400

Scottie Scheffler, who is currently the world No. 1, is the pre-tournament leading contender to win his second Masters title after securing his first championship victory in 2022. Scheffler has finished among the top-25 players at Augusta National for four consecutive years, making him a consistent performer at the prestigious event. With two wins already under his belt this season, Scheffler's outstanding performance this year has established him as the favorite to win the tournament once again.

Rory McIlroy: +1100

Rory McIlroy has participated in the Masters tournament numerous times, but he is yet to win the competition. This year, he is considered one of the favorites to put on a green jacket for the first time. Although McIlroy's last major win was in 2014, he has had an impressive record of 20 top-10 finishes in major tournaments over the past decade.

Jon Rahm: +1200

Jon Rahm is returning to Augusta National as the defending champion. He has previously had top-10 finishes five times before winning the green jacket, which was his second career major. Rahm could join three golfers in history (including Tiger Woods) to win back-to-back Masters tournaments.

Xander Schauffele: +1400

Xander Schauffele is a top-10 finisher from last year's Masters and is hoping to win his first major this year. Schauffele has had an impressive season so far this year with three top-five finishes and five top-10 finishes.

Jordan Spieth: +2200

Jordan Spieth won the 2015 Masters by four strokes over Phil Mickelson and Justin Rose with a score of 18-under-par 270 and is a pre-tournament favorite to win his second green jacket this year. Spieth is making his 11th Masters appearance and has top-four finishes in six of his 10 starts at Augusta National.
