Live updates: Incarnate Word Cardinals at UTEP Miners football

The UTEP team opens the home portion of its 2023 schedule against the biggest mystery on the schedule.

Incarnate Word was an FCS powerhouse last season that lost much of its team and its coaching staff, then reloaded with 19 transfers, many from power conference schools.

This was supposed to be a victory when UTEP scheduled it several years ago but now looks like an intriguing matchup. The Miners do lead the series 1-0, winning 27-17 in 2015 when current first-year UIW coach Clint Killough was a receiver (he caught two passes for 36 yards).

The game will serve as a celebration of UTEP's 10-3 team from 1988 and is Miners Magic/80s Night.
