Listen Now! Hal Habib breaks down 2024 Miami Dolphins Draft, grades each pick

The Miami Dolphins went into the 2024 NFL Draft with six picks.

When all was said and done, they took seven players.

For the first time since 2021, the Dolphins had a first-round pick.

They also made a trade along the way.

But is it enough to get the Dolphins over the hump?

Yes, they’ve been to the playoffs two years in a row, something they hadn’t done since 2001, but they also haven’t won a playoff game in more than two decades.

It’s the longest drought in the NFL.

Here’s how the Draft shook out for Miami:

  • First Round: No. 21: Chop Robinson, Edge, Penn State

  • Second Round: No. 55: Patrick Paul, T, Houston

  • Fourth Round: No. 20: Jaylen Wright, RB, Tennessee

  • Fifth Round: No. 158: Mohamed Kamara, Edge, Colorado State

  • Sixth Round: No. 184: Malik Washington, WR, Virginia

  • Sixth Round: No. 198: Patrick McMorris, S, Cal

  • Seventh Round: No. 241: Tahj Washington, WR, USC

They went into the draft with six picks, none in the third or fourth rounds, but they ended up trading with the Philadelphia Eagles to get a fourth round pick. They had to give up a 2025 third round pick in return.

On the latest episode of “The *State* of Florida Sports Podcast,” powered by the USA Today Network, Hal Habib of the Palm Beach Post joins me to talk about the 2024 Miami Dolphins Draft.

He’ll tell us how quickly he thinks first-rounder Chop Robinson will be a contributor.

First-round draft pick Chop Robinson meets the media Friday at Dolphins headquarters.

He’ll tell us if he liked the trade to get a running back in the fourth round, considering they have Raheem Mostert, De’Von Achane and several other capable backs on the team.

And he’ll explain why they took two wide receivers later in the draft.
