HOUSTON — Utah Jazz guard Kris Dunn has been suspended, without pay, for two games, the NBA announced on Sunday.

The suspension comes from an altercation on Saturday night between Dunn and Houston Rockets forward Jabari Smith Jr. at the 11:55 mark of the second quarter. Smith has been suspended for one game for his involvement.

The NBA rulebook clearly states that players who throw punches will be suspended for at least one game whether or not there is contact resulting from swings. Dunn was suspended two games for being deemed the initiating party and throwing a punch at Smith.

Dunn will serve his suspension on Monday when the Jazz host the Dallas Mavericks and Wednesday when the Jazz host the San Antonio Spurs.

Smith will serve his suspension Monday night when the Rockets host the Portland Trail Blazers.
