Kansas State men's and women's basketball will still face KU twice in new Big 12 schedule

The Big 12 Conference's double-round robin basketball schedule is a thing of the past, but Kansas State men's and women's fans can still look forward to a home-and-home format for the Sunflower Showdown.

The Big 12 released its much-anticipated conference matchups for the 2023-24 season on Thursday, and all 14 teams will play an 18-game slate with nine at home and nine on the road. Everybody will have five home-and-home series with single games against the other eight teams.

Dates, tipoff times and television information will be released at a later date. The schedules figure to look different again next year when Oklahoma and Texas depart for the SED, here is how the schedules break down for the Wildcat men and women in 2023-24.

K-State men to entertain two newcomers

Look for Kansas and K-State to meet twice every year.

K-State's home conference schedule will include visits from Baylor, BYU, UCF, Iowa State, Kansas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, TCU and West Virginia. The Wildcats will face BYU, Cincinnati, Houston, Iowa State, Kansas, Oklahoma State, Texas, Texas Tech and West Virginia on the road.

Two of the conference newcomers — Brigham Young and Central Florida — will visit Bramlage Coliseum, with K-State facing Houston, Cincinnati and BYU on the road. BYU is one of the Wildcats' five home-and-home matchups, along with KU, Iowa State, Oklahoma State and West Virginia.

Wildcat women face challenging schedule

The schedule-makers did Kansas State's women no favors, giving the Wildcats home-and-home matchups with 2023 regular-season co-champions Oklahoma and Texas, Big 12 Tournament winner Iowa State and WNIT champion Kansas, along with newcomer UCF.

Two other newcomers — BYU and Houston — will visit Bramlage Coliseum as well, along with Oklahoma State and West Virginia. In addition to KU, Iowa State, Oklahoma Texas and UCF, K-State will face Cincinnati, Baylor, TCU and Texas Tech on the road.
