Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon became a 1,000-yard rusher for the 2023 season during the first quarter of Sunday's NFL Week 18 win against the AFC North rival Cleveland Browns at Paycor Stadium.

Mixon eclipsed the 1,000-yard mark, reaching 1,006, with a 45-yard run. He had 84 rushing yards on his first five carries of the game.

Mixon, who entered the game with 923 rushing yards, is in his seventh season with the Bengals. It's the fourth time during his NFL career that he's eclipsed the 1,000-yard rushing mark.

Only Corey Dillon has more 1,000-yard rushing seasons as a Bengal.

Mixon had a career-best 1,205 rushing yards and was named a Pro Bowler in 2021.

Mixon had his ninth touchdown of the season, and 49th of his NFL career, during the first quarter. He added a receiving TD later in the first quarter, his third of the season, to give the Bengals a 14-0 lead.

Early in the second half, Mixon had his first 100-yard rushing game of the season.

Mixon suffered a shoulder injury during the Bengals' Week 14 win against the Indianapolis Colts, but he returned to the game after being evaluated on the sideline.
