Joe Burrow’s 63-yard TD to Ja’Marr Chase set impressive marks for duo

The Cincinnati Bengals offense showed up in full form against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 5 and Next Gen Stats analytics have backed the stats up.

Joe Burrow’s 63-yard touchdown to Ja’Marr Chase traveled 58.1 yards in the air, which was his longest completion by air distance in his entire career. With concerns about his calf after the way he has been playing since reaggravating it, the fact that he is doing things he hasn’t done before in his career is a good sign.

One concern was that he wasn’t able to get enough power behind his throws, not being able to use his lower body to get enough behind them. This shows that shouldn’t be a concern any longer.

Also on that same play, Chase reached a speed of 21.54 miles per hour, which is the sixth-fastest run by any ball carrier this season, and the second-fastest mark of his career.

There were no concerns about Chase’s health, he has been good to go all year, but it’s still good to see what he’s capable of when he gets the chance to show his skills off. After his comments a few weeks ago about how he’s always open, he proved it against the Cardinals with 15 receptions, 192 yards and three touchdowns.
