Jacksonville College men wrap up season on a high note

Mar. 7—BEEVILLE, Texas — Fueled by eye-popping performances by Anthony Riggans and Khadir Muhhammad, the Jacksonville College Jaguars closed their season by coming away with a 97-93 overtime victory over Coastal Bend College Wednesday in Beeville.

Riggans dumped in 29 points and completed a double-double by collecting 10 rebounds in his final game as a Jag.

Muhhammad tossed in 26 points, pulled down nine boards, dished out 10 assists and came up with five steals in just missing a triple double.

Massimo Moretti added 12 points for JC (9-21, 3-16).

The Jagmen trailed 35-28 at halftime, but battled back to tie the game, 79-79, at the end of regulation. In the bonus period JC outscored Coastal Bend (15-15, 6-13), 18-14, to seal the victory.
