Thomas Gotkowski threw for three touchdowns and Mark Zackery scored on two long plays -- one a 99-yard fumble return -- to help the 6A No. 8 Giants stun the traditional Ohio power Crusaders with a strong performance. Gotkowski threw for 283 yards and ran for a score of his own, while Zackery caught a 67-yard TD pass in addition to his scoop-and-score. Moeller’s Jordan Marshall ran for 120 yards and scored all four TDs for the hosts.

Brock Riddle threw a school-record six touchdown passes and ran for a seventh score to help the visiting Woodmen launch new coach Justin Boser’s Greenwood career with a wild win over the Owls, coached by Tyson Moore, the son of Center Grove coach Eric Moore. Riddle hit Amare Middleton for three touchdown passes and Tyler Crouch for two and rang up 434 passing yards and 521 yards of total offense as the Woodmen rallied from deficits of 14 and 15 points to surge to the win. Seymour quarterback Bret Perry also excelled, throwing five TD passes, running for a sixth and piling up 464 yards of offense of his own.

The Bull Dogs had things well in hand with an 11-point lead and just over 7 minutes to play; then the roof fell in as the Hawks swooped in to steal the win. Ashton Vogel’s second field goal of the night cut the deficit to eight points, and Bo Polston’s touchdown pass to Chris Richmond with 2:32 left narrowed it to 14-12. After a Columbus punt, Decatur drove to the goal line where Polston drove home the game-winning score on the next-to-last play of the game.
