Huskers in the NFL: Randy Gregory and the San Francisco 49ers move onto NFC Championship game

The Nebraska Cornhuskers will be represented next weekend in the NFL’s conference championship weekend. Former Husker Randy Gregory and the San Francisco 49ers will take on the Detroit Lions at Levi Stadium in Santa Clara, California, next Sunday evening.

On Saturday, Gregory and the 49ers held off an upset attempt from the Green Bay Packers, downing former Husker wide receiver Samori Toure and the Packers 24-21.

In the 49ers win, Gregory recorded two tackles, including one solo tackle. The edge rusher played for Nebraska from 2011 to 2012. During his Husker career, he was a two-time first-team All-Big Ten selection and a third-team All-American in 2012.

The winner of next weekend’s NFC Championship game will take on either the Baltimore Ravens or Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LVIII at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
