Husker Nation reacts to Crawford’s victory over Spence

Husker Nation was out in support of a home-state athlete in one of the biggest boxing matches of the year on Saturday night. Omaha, Nebraska’s Terence β€˜Bud’ Crawford defeated Errol Spence Jr. by TKO in the ninth round to become the undisputed welterweight champion.

The victory moves Crawford to 40-0 (31 KO) all-time. He became the first undisputed welterweight champion in the four-belt era with the win.

Crawford was dominant throughout the fight, knocking down Spence in Round 2 and twice in Round 7. During his post-fight in-ring interview, Crawford talked about his dream of becoming a world champion.

β€œLike I said before, I only dreamed of being a world champion. I’m an overachiever. Nobody believed in me when I was coming up, but I made everybody a believer. And I want to thank Spence and his team, like I told him, because without him none of this would be possible for me.”

Crawford is currently ranked as ESPN’s No. 1 pound-for-pound fighter. There were numerous reactions from Husker Nation. Find a sample of those reactions below.
