The high school spring sports season is fully underway. That means the return of our weekly player of the polls.

And before we delve into the spring, let's take a look back at our final winner from the winter. Duxbury High girls hockey player Lucia Rose was our final athlete of the week from the winter. The sophomore collected over 1,300 votes to earn the honor. Rose scored her first career varsity goal in a 4-0 win over Falmouth in the Division 2 state championship.
Here are our first batch of baseball candidates...
Jordan Medeiros, Jr., Avon: Medeiros fired a 5-inning no-hitter in a 17-1 win over Norfolk Aggie.
Braedan Nicholson, Fr., Rockland: Nicholson was brilliant in his varsity debit, pitching the Bulldogs to a 9-0 win over Holbrook. He threw a 1-hitter with 13 strikeouts and no walks.
Mikey Kostek, Soph., Scituate: Kostek had a walk-off RBI in a 2-1 win over Cohasset. He also earned the win on the mound.
John Sellon, Sr., Abington: Sellon tossed a shutout in a 10-0 win over Carver with 5 strikeouts and 4 hits allowed.

Andrew Daley, Jr., Weymouth: Daley went 3-for-4 with a home run, double and 3 RBIs in a 12-0 win over North Quincy.
Luc Lefevre, Sr., Cohasset: Lefevre struck out 9 over 6 innings with 2 hits allowed in a 2-0 win over Mashpee.
Colin Ducie, Jr., Plymouth South: Ducie starred at the plate and on the mound in a 9-1 win over Nauset. On the mound, he allowed 3 hits and struck out 12. He went 2-for-3 with 2 RBIs.
Collin Meserve, Fr., East Bridgewater: Meserve's first varsity hit was a 2-run home run in a 3-0 win over Middleboro.
Ryan Nunes, Soph., West Bridgewater: Nunes went 2-for-3 with 4 RBIs in a 13-3 win over Hull.
Brad Andreola, Sr., Holliston: Andreola walked twice, scored two bases and scored both Panthers runs in a 2-1 win over Westwood in the opener Tuesday.
Chris Aucoin, Hudson: Aucoin struck out 11 in five innings against just two walks to earn the victory, as the Hawks defeated Assabet 7-2 on Tuesday.
Nick Bellofatto, Sr., Westborough: Bellofatto smoked a three-run double in the second inning for the Rangers in a 6-2 win over Grafton in the opener on Monday.
Josh Bouchard, Soph., Bellingham: Bouchard drove in three runs and collected a double on his 2-for-3 day for the Blackhawks in a 10-3 win over Medway on Tuesday.
Liam Curley, Sr., Lincoln-Sudbury: Curley had three hits including a double, scored two runs and added an RBI for the Warriors in a 7-1 win over Framingham in the opener on Monday.
Charlie Carpenter, Sr., Wellesley: Carpenter notched two hits and two RBIs for the Raiders (1-0, 1-0 BSC), who won their opener Saturday over Natick, 11-8.
Henry DiGiorgio, Sr., Franklin: The Northeastern signee had a hit and two RBIs in a 5-3 win over King Philip a day after doubling and scoring a run in a loss to Oliver Ames in the opener.
Tyler Moore, Sr., Marlborough: Moore struck out seven and allowed just one run in six innings to earn the win on opening day Monday, a 2-1 triumph over AMSA.
Mike Rutkowski, Jr., Hopedale: Rutkowski allowed just one hit over 5 2/3 shutout innings in a 5-0 win over Bay Path.
Jackson Shusda, Soph., Dover-Sherborn: Shusda allowed just four hits in six innings to lead the Raiders (1-0) to a 6-2 win over Norton in their opener. He struck out two.
Alex Vosburgh, Jr., Blackstone Valley Tech: Vosburgh drove in three runs and crushed two doubles on a 3-for-4 day, as the Beavers won their opener 6-2 over Bellingham.
