High school top performers: Northridge's Braden Hannig and Ethan Wilson win state tennis doubles
Here are the top performers for the third week of April from Tuscaloosa-area boys and girls high school spring sports:
Softball
Thursday
American Christian Academy's Hannah Miles hit 4-for-5 with three triples, four RBIs and three runs scored in a 13-8 win against Hale County.
ACA's Avery Boyle hit 3-for-3 with a double, two singles, two RBIs and a run scored vs. Hale County.
ACA's Sarah Williams went 3-for-4 with a triple, a double, a single, one RBI and two runs scored vs. Hale County.
Hillcrest's CJ Harrison and Brooksie Suttles both hit 3-for-3 in an 8-5 win against Thompson.
Hillcrest's Willesha Lang hit a home run vs. Thompson.
Hillcrest's Nichole Dockery hit 3-for-4 with three RBIs vs. Thompson.
Holy Spirit's Alyssa Faircloth pitched seven innings, allowed one hit and struck out 12 batters in a 5-0 win against Brookwood. She went 2-for-2 at the plate.
Holy Spirit's Olivia Watkins hit 2-for-3 with one RBI vs. Brookwood.
Wednesday
Holy Spirit's Alyssa Faircloth threw one inning with three strikeouts in a 14-0 win against Pickens County.
Holy Spirit's Claire Laubenthal hit an inside-the-park home run with two RBIs vs. Pickens County.
Holy Spirit's Elaina Russell was 3-for-4 with three singles and two RBIs.
Tuesday
ACA's Avery Boyle hit 3-for-3 with two singles, a double, two RBIs and two runs scored in a 6-5 win against Sipsey Valley.
ACA's Sarah Williams went 2-for-4 with two singles and two RBIs vs. Sipsey Valley.
Girls soccer
Thursday
ACA's Lexi Oats and Mallory Ballou both scored twice and both made two assists in a 10-0 win against Brookwood.
ACA's Jocie Oats, Anna Robbins, Mary Max Karrh, Addison Golden, Celia Jaen and Ivie Jarrell each scored one goal vs. Brookwood.
ACA goalie Savannah Aderholt had three saves vs. Brookwood.
Monday
ACA's Mallory Ballou and Lexie Oats scored the two goals in a 3-2 loss to Hillcrest. Ballou had and assist to Oats.
ACA's Gracie Olsen made nine saves vs. Hillcrest.
Baseball
Wednesday
Pickens Academy's Drake Lowery and Clark Gibson both hit 2-for-3 with two singles apiece in an 11-1 win against Southern Academy and will host the second round of AISA playoffs April 28.
Pickens Academy's Aidan Johnson had a double with two RBIs vs. Southern Academy.
Pickens Academy pitcher Trey Woods struck out six batters in five innings vs. Southern Academy.
Boys tennis
Friday
Northridge's Braden Hannig and Ethan Wilson combined to win the AHSAA state championship at No. 1 doubles in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2, against a duo from Trinity Presbyterian.
Northridge's Jose Alcocer and James Embry are state runners-up, advancing to the No. 3 and No. 5 singles finals, respectively. They paired in No. 3 doubles to finish second in the state.

ACA's Gabe Henson scored both goals in a 2-0 win against Brookwood.
ACA's Davis Sharp made both assists vs. Brookwood.
ACA's Luca Jenkins had three saves vs. Brookwood.
ACA's Samuel Holt had one save vs. Brookwood.
Monday
ACA's DJ Dally and Gabe Henson scored the two goals in a 2-1 win at Hillcrest. Henson made the assist on Dally's goal.
ACA keeper Luca Jenkins had two saves vs. Hillcrest.
ACA's Davis Sharp made an assist to Gabe Henson vs. Hillcrest.

Thursday
Tuscaloosa Academy's team win at Morgan Academy's Senator Invitational, its first team championship since 2019, was led by Anna Christian Beeker's 78.
TA's William Beeker shot 80 at the Senator Invitational.
TA's Jack Smith made a hole-in-one at No. 12 at the Senator Invitational.
