Full-time at Craven Cottage, and that late strike from Guimaraes secures a snatch-and-grab victory for Newcastle United!! The Magpies may have had a strike from Schar chalked off just moments prior to the Brazilian's goal on 81 minutes, but Fulham will feel they did more than enough to get something out of this game. Their mountain of chances from the first half was followed up by Pereira forcing a save from Dubravka and Jimenez and Broja both being denied from close range late on, but the hosts couldn't find a way past Newcastle, who looked to have been denied an earlier opener by VAR. Gordon had seen an early effort kept out by Leno and crossed towards Burn at the far post, with his challenge on Bassey ruled to be a foul as Schar lashed the ball home. However, Guimaraes would right Newcastle's wrongs just six minutes later, firing a follow-up shot into the bottom corner after Barnes' cross was scythed clear. A second win in three games allows the Magpies to keep pace in the fight for European football, while back-to-bacl defeats for Fulham sees them drop further down the table to 14th place.
