Four from Richland County earn All-Ohio honors in Division IV; Toms earns second-team nod

COLUMBUS — They are the best of the best.

Four Richland County boys basketball players took All-Ohio honors presented by the Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association on Wednesday.

Lucas senior Logan Toms took second team honors while Mansfield Christian's Amarr Davis was a third team selection. Lucas senior Aidan Culler earned special mention All-Ohio honors while Mansfield Christian freshman Davion Mack was an honorable mention.

Toms, the Division IV Northwest District co-Player of the Year and Mid-Buckeye Conference Player of the Year, averaged 17.2 points, 4.8 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 2.6 steals per game. He led the Cubs to a 19-6 record including a fifth straight Mid-Buckeye Conference championship and a fifth consecutive sectional crown. It is the third All-Ohio honor of his career.

Davis averaged 15.6 points and added 4.4 rebounds, 5.7 assists and 4.3 steals per game for the Flames as he also became the program's all-time leading scorer with 1,671 points breaking a 50-year-old record topping Jerry Cline's 1,641 points set back in 1970-74.

Culler averaged 17.4 points, 6.6 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.2 steals for the Cubs while Mack averaged  18.7 points, 7.4 rebounds, one assists and 3.3 steals per game. He helped Davis lead the Flames to tying the best regular-season record in program history with 18 wins and finished 20-5 on the season.
