Former big-time college football coaches ‘star’ in pro wrestling event
When I was in sixth grade I got into professional wrestling for about a two-year run that had me watching it instead of Monday Night Football and pretty much any other sport.
That lasted about two years as I specifically remember watching the 2000 NCAA Tournament championship game between Michigan State and Florida and the following Monday I didn’t go back to WWE’s Raw or WCW’s Nitro.
The most wrestling I’ve watched in the 21-plus years since came last night, all via social media as a couple of former Notre Dame assistant coaches kept showing up in my timeline as they assisted in a “Stadium Match” during AEW’s “Double of Nothing” pay-per-view event.
Chris Jericho (yeah, he’s still wrestling) and MJF were brawling and entered a room in Jacksonville’s Daily’s Place. In that room were none other than new Jaguars head coach Urban Meyer and his assistant, Charlie Strong, who were both armed and ready to help out.

So that’s what Meyer and Strong have been up to since both left Notre Dame’s campus as assistant coaches years ago.
