Arkansas running back Devwah Whaley will play against Texas A&M on Saturday.

Whaley is one of Arkansas’ best running backs and wasn’t injured in Week 3 — the Hogs were off. So you may be wondering why this is news. Well, Whaley was reportedly involved in a practice fight this week with transfer wide receiver Brandon Martin and rumors swirled Thursday that he could miss the game as a result.

He won’t, according to coach Bret Bielema. From Whole Hog Sports:

“He’s ready to play,” Bielema said of Whaley, the starter for the Hogs.

“How many times are 21-year-olds in an disagreement? Devwah is excited to play in the game in his home state.”

Martin isn’t traveling to the game, though Bielema pointed out the decision for Martin to not travel was made before the “disagreement.”

Whaley has 23 carries for 92 yards and a touchdown through Arkansas’ first two games of the season. The game between the Razorbacks and Aggies could be an early-season barometer for two coaches with potentially uncertain futures. The loser of the game at AT&T Stadium in Arlington drops to 0-1 in the SEC and has two losses overall.
